Our Story

An extraordinary online wine shop 40 years in the making. Monty’s Wine Emporium was created by Drew Montague in answer to the question he has been asked forever… “What wine would you recommend?”

Our heartfelt passion is to enable you to discover more from the world of wine, to give you the courage to explore new wines and fresh tastes, and to broaden your palate.

Monty’s Wine Emporium is part of Montague Fine & Rare Wines, a family-run business founded by Drew in 2009 to focus on investment-grade and collectable wines and spirits and developed out of four decades of working in the international wine trade.

Our customers benefit from Drew’s wealth of experience. Superb customer service, integrity and outstanding value for money are all cornerstones of Monty’s Wine Emporium.

Originally delivering wine from a basket on a bicycle throughout Knightsbridge and Chelsea for Partridges of Sloane Street, Drew studied for his wine exams and learnt the trade from the shop floor. Senior roles have included the Wine Manager at the Sunday Times Wine Club, UK Director at the Wine Institute of California, Head of Buying for Wines, Beers and Spirits at Harrods, and for three decades as a much-respected judge for the International Wine Challenge competition.
